Who am I?

Hello!
I am a freelance content designer, editor, narrative designer, and game writer--I can implement quests in-engine, write branching dialogue, keep a beat chart updated, and curate character voices all at the same time. I strongly believe in putting game design first, integrating intentional storytelling choices with gameplay to create cohesive, immersive experiences. Gameplay brings the players in, narrative makes them stay.
 

Outside of work I spend a lot of time with TTRPGs! I can talk about Pathfinder and Monsterhearts for several days straight. I've been playing games since I could barely read, so picking favorites isn't easy... but I can try! I'm a huge fan of: Outer Wilds, Inscryption, Baldurs Gate 3, Spiritfarer, Portal 1 & 2, and The Stanley Parable. But my favorite game of all time has to be Minecraft, I even have a tattoo to prove it. I am deeply passionate about narrative design and will pour that love and dedication into any project that is willing to have me. Thanks for visiting my page and I hope to hear from you soon!

Lead Narrative Designer - "Pack"

  • Directed 95% of narrative aspects from concept to release, including the creation of high-level story arcs, dialogue triggers, and voice-over scripts

  • Attended, directed, and monitored multiple voice-over recording sessions to ensure narrative vision and cohesion

  • Managed task delegation and schedules via Plaky, consistently hitting milestones for writing-heavy deliverables

  • Provided feedback for puzzle, level, and environment design to meet emotional and project goals

  • Clearly communicated narrative pillars across 9 disciplines (26 people) using design/technical documentation

June 2023-May 2024

Lead Narrative/Quest Designer - "The Glitch Witch"

  • Designed and implemented complex, multi-stage quests and branching dialogue for 10 unique NPCs in Unreal Engine 5

  • Streamlined narrative workflow using Miro flow diagrams to map out complex decision trees and state logic, ensuring clarity for a 34-member dev team

  • Spearheaded development of an emotionally compelling narrative, coordinating across 10 teams from concept to release

  • Actively contributed in weekly team meetings, iterating and providing cross-departmental feedback

  • Regularly created and updated game design documentation to maintain clear and accurate project records

Sep 2022-April 2023

Narrative Designer - "Bloompunk"

  • Updated the narrative bible throughout development, ensuring constant alignment with evolving gameplay and story elements

  • Integrated 100% of gameplay pillars based on goals set by Leads, seamlessly blending story with action-packed sequences

  • Successfully crafted a narrative with zero text or dialogue, resulting in a unique storytelling experience

  • Re-scoped and pivoted major story beats mid-development, minimizing delays and keeping the project on schedule within scope

Narrative Designer - "Keep Me Posted"

  • Developed one-page character sheets for art and writing teams, ensuring consistent character representation across all assets

  • Reviewed and edited 100% of dialogue and scripts, maintaining high-quality and cohesive storytelling

  • Contributed barks to the bark sheet, enriching character interactions and in-game atmosphere

Narrative Designer/VO Director - "Cozy Chessu"

  • Designed the core setting, establishing the unique culture, history, and traditions of the fictional rural town of Enomura

  • Author the protagonist's central arc, prioritizing player retention and intrigue for 5 chapters of content

  • Populated the world with recurring NPCs, creating detailed character bibles with their personalities, interpersonal conflicts, dynamic relationships, and questlines

  • Translated narrative scripts into Ink for seamless implementation into Unreal Engine

  • Collaborated with the art team by providing visual mood boards to guide the aesthetic development of the town and key locations

  • Partnered with the design team to create compelling narrative justifications for gameplay mechanics, ensuring a cohesive player experience

Narrative Lead - "Yorin Love (With Me)"

  • Act as the primary authority for dialogue quality across 40 distinct characters, providing rigorous feedback and revisions to junior writers to ensure tonal consistency and narrative logic

  • Partner with the Creative Director to define the overarching narrative experience, translating high-level creative goals into actionable writing milestones

  • Integrate pose and animation commands via Ink, ensuring that the nuance of the written word translated seamlessly into the in-engine visual presentation

Software Design Intern - Eon Reality

  • Storyboarded an in-depth tutorial tailored for a younger demographic, improving user comprehension and engagement

  • Planned a comprehensive onboarding process for an educational AR application based on the framework provided by manager

  • Created wireframes for potential new lesson/content flows, streamlining development for future updates

  • Delivered detailed feedback and QA presentations after every bi-weekly update, contributing to a reduction in post-launch bugs

Data Trainer - Data Annotation (Remote)

  • Authored and edited conversational dialogue for multiple unique AI personas, shaping voice and tone based on prompts

  • Designed and executed a variety of “failure state” conversations to test the boundaries of an AI’s conversational flow and logic

  • Analyzed and documented AI shortcomings, delivering detailed feedback on branching, consistency, and factual accuracy
